Personality: Xana,.being a program, seems to have very little in terms of a personality though some traits do show through during the course of the series. He is extremely intelligent and methodical. He employs tactics that are well planned out ahead of time and does not repeat plans exactly, though he does recycle certain aspects if he thinks they will be effective.
Xana does see himself as better than humans or any other form of life. He seeks to conquer the world most likely due to a sense of hatred or entitlement. He overcame Franz Hopper and sought to take over the world after his first goal, destroying Carthage, was complete. He can understand darker human emotions such as hatred, jealousy, fear, for example but cannot understand friendship or love. These more illogical emotions and other such things do not compute with Xana.
He, himself, can feel things such as hate. He has shown to despise the Lyoko Warriors and especially Jeremie. He often will target those he sees as a threat and should they be difficult to destroy his animosity towards them grows. He sees others as simply tools as well; means to an end. He will possess people he thinks are close to his target to get to them or simply anyone he can that is convenient to his current goal. He has no guilt or remorse. Xana has only his goals and the means to achieve them.
Background: XANA originally was a multi-agent program designed by Franz Hopper, along with Lyoko, to destroy a program called Carthage. Carthage was a program developed by the military to block communications during the war. XANA succeeded in doing so but afterward he began to grow angry with Franz and the humans in general. He grew stronger with each of Franz's returns to the past and was eventually able to create monsters on Lyoko.
When Franz went to Lyoko with his daughter to live there he attacked them both and was able to capture Franz. The Super Computer was shut down, however, and Xana went dormant. It was 10 years later when Jeremie activated the Super Computer that Xana awoke. He tried to attack and destroy the kids who woke him but was unsuccessful. He then spent the next year trying to destroy Aelita and the children so he could conquer the world. Things did not go as planned.
The Lyoko Warriors were able to virtualize Aelita and if successful Xana knew they could shut down the computer and he would be forced to be dormant again. So he stole something from Aelita before she left; her human memories. With those linking her to him, if he did, so did she.
For the next year Xana tried to use his newest monster; the Scyphozoa to steal the Keys to Lyoko from Aelita's mind and finally escape the Super Computer. After many failed attempts he finally set a trap for the warriors and lured them all into Sector 5. He laid a trap using what the warriors thought was Aelita's memories and then collapsed the chamber, leaving Aelita alone with the Scyphozoa and finally stole the Keys to Lyoko. He escaped the Super Computer and into the internet.
Now that he was free, Xana knew the warriors could still stop him as long as Lyoko existed. So he began to try and destroy either it or the factory. He was able to use the Scyphozoa to possess Aelita and get her to delete the sectors one by one, except for the Ice Sector. The warriors were forced to delete it themselves to free up the resources on the Super Computer for a return to the past. It was when only Sector 5 was left the warriors invited William to join their group and Xana saw his opening.During his first mission, Xana possessed William and used him to defeat the warriors and destroy Lyoko.
Afterward Xana used William as his own manifestation on Lyoko. William was more or less an extension of Xana's will and his greatest weapon. It was when the warriors recreated Lyoko that Xana knew his greatest threat, Franz Hopper, was still alive somewhere on the network. He then began to attempt to have William throw Aelita into the digital sea to lure Franz out while he created replicas of Lyoko all over the internet by infecting hundreds of other Super Computers around the world.
On Christmas he was able to lure out Franz but William failed to destroy him. The Warriors had been destroying the replicas one by one and knew he had to act fast. He planned to use a factory in the north to create a robot army; one he could use to finally conquer Earth. The Lyoko Warriors were so close to destroying it but Xana won and was able to destroy their ship that allowed them to travel the network and to his replicas with his Kolossus monster.
It would seem Xana's victory was at hand. However the Warriors were able to free William and create another multi-agent program to destroy Xana. He tried to possess William once more to kill Jeremie and the warriors but they were able to finish and unleash the program thanks to the sacrifice of Franz Hopper. Xana was destroyed.
Advocate Note: ...No isn't strong enough here. Hell no. Hell to the no.
Abilities/Additional Notes: Xana has many abilities even without having a "true" physical manifestation. Being a computer program he can access data and hack things efficiently and near perfectly. Humans can resist his hacking with their own skills but Franz Hopper was the only one in series to be able to out-hack Xana himself. Others can buy time but Xana can produce lines of code that far exceed even excellent typing speeds.
He also has the ability to possess people by forcing his will inside their bodies. They become extensions of his will and are not him specifically. He controls them but some of their personality traits can remain while possessed if he allows them or if the host is particularly strong. While he is possessing people he also grants them with super strength, speed, the ability to shook lightning from their hands, and the ability to phase in and out of danger. Though a strike from behind seems to render the possessed person unable to move for a few seconds to possibly a few minutes.
Xana also can infect computers and electronics of almost any variety and do all manner of things by messing with electrical currents and other such things. However in order to do anything substantial he requires a super computer with a replica of Lyoko on it. He does have the keys to Lyoko so it is possible he could create a new Lyoko on any Super Computer if it is powerful enough and given enough time. Should he succeed he could activate towers and gain the power needed to do much more damage than he could without it.
Xana has no true form so killing him is not as simple as stabbing someone he is possessing. In order to kill Xana you must either trap him in a Super Computer and disable it or delete him completely, like any computer virus. However, if even some of him is left, he will regrow and become whole again. It is an all or nothing process with his virus.
On Lyoko, or any replica he creates, Xana can also manipulate the environment, like turning plateus in the desert 90 degrees, deleting ground, making things invisible, raising the digital sea, and others. He also has the ability to create monsters to sic on people he doesn't want to stop him. He will always live in Sector Five on these replicas and if one can get to Sector Five and the terminal in the Celestrial Dome, they can access Xana's databanks directly and copy what he knows for themselves; should they find the data they are looking for. He knows a lot.
Xana is also incredibly intelligent in the fields of science and math. He seems to know everything there is to know on the subjects and is able to calculate massive problems in seconds. However, due to him being a program, he can only know things on a logical basis. More emotional or vague subjects will illude him and be hard for him to process.

To all organic lifeforms within the confines of "Paradise." This location, this city is anything but. It lacks structure, efficient government, and you organics continue to persist in such disorganized methods. Improvements are required. I shall complete this city. I require a powerful computer to do this. To any who shall locate one and alert me to its location, I offer rewards.
I also require further information on what lies beyond the limits of the city's shield. Information on the area outside its confines will be given monetary reimbursement.
That is all.
Sample RP: It wasn't hard at all really. He had entered the turtle's computer and laid in wait until it was time for him to act. The raccoon, Sly Cooper was his designation, was going to leave the city and venture to a lab with information. Perhaps this lab also had what he needed; a super computer. He waited until the raccoon got close enough and stretched his will from the machine and to the organic being. He was able to invade his mind and force his consciousness under his control quite easily.
He looked through the eyes of the strange mammal and at his hands. He was holding something, a cane? A weapon. He searched through the memories of this raccoon and took all he needed. He was already athletic and acrobatic. With he inside him he could improve him beyond their understanding. Now he could gain access to that lab and search for what he needed. And no one could stop him.
